Utilization of Fosphenytoin for Digoxin-Induced Ventricular Arrhythmia

چکیده
Though digoxin has been used for over 200 years, its properties and benefits continue to be investigated. Digoxin inhibits the sodium-potassium ATPase pump, thereby increasing intracellular sodium-calcium exchange in the cardiac myocyte. The resultant increase in intracellular calcium causes increased contractility. Digoxin also exerts an anti-adrenergic action in patients with heart failure by inhibiting sympathetic outflow. 1,3

Effect of gallic acid on electrophysiological properties and ventricular arrhythmia following chemical-induced arrhythmia in rat
Objective(s): Ventricular arrhythmias including ventricular tachycardia (VT) and ventricular fibrillation (VF) are the most important causes of mortality rate. Gallic acid (GA) has beneficial effects on cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of GA on electrophysiological parameters such as QRS complex, heart rate (HR), PR interval pa...
متن کاملAntiarrhythmic and cardioprotective effects of remifentanil in anesthetized dogs.
OBJECTIVE To study the antiarrhythmic effect of remifentanil in experimental arrhythmias in dogs. METHODS We used dogs weighing 12 kg-18 kg anesthetized with 30 mg/kg sodium pentobarbital given intravenously. Ventricular arrhythmia, ventricular fibrillation and death were induced with digoxin (9 microg/kg/min). In another model, two types of arrhythmia were induced in the right atrium, one of...
متن کاملProlonged Oral Administration of Oleuropein Might Protect Heart against Aconitine-induced Arrhythmia
In this study, it was surveyed to know whether an oral single dose of oleuropein could mimic the cardiac preconditioning in rats’ hearts or whether its prolonged oral administration could protect the heart against the aconitine-induced arrhythmia in rats. Eighty male Wistar rats were divided into two series (n = 8 in each group). In the first series, all groups (except the control (Con) group) ...

متن کاملEllagic acid improved arrhythmias induced by CaCL2 in the rat stress model
Objective: In ventricular arrhythmias, due to their free radical scavenging action, antioxidant agents are usually used in the treatment of cardiovascular disease. Since stress is considered as risk factor for increased mortality by causing malignant arrhythmias, the study was designed to evaluate the cardioprotective effects of ellagic acid (EA) on CaCl2-induced arrhythmias in rat stress model...
